Messier Marathon from Majhkhali, Ranikhet

Fellow Astronuts,

If there is enough interest we could plan Messier Marathon from Majhkhali, Ranikhet along with USB 20″, Balti 12″ and other telescopes. Date – 13th March 2010, Saturday. There is a resort at this place with a nice large terrace open to the sky. Several telescopes can be placed on this terrace. The best part, rooms are just below, electricity is available and lights of the resorts can be switched off. M30 will be a breeze to locate here early morning rising over the clear Himalayan horizon.

I have contacted the resort and they have offered rates for double room sharing per person per night 1500/- and triple sharing 1300/- per person per night with all meals included if we book several rooms together. Apart from this there will be cost to transport the 3-4 telescopes to Ranikhet and back approximately 12000/-. The more number of people, less to share!

All interested please respond, so this plan can go forward.
